    The Garden Stamp - Order

Couldn't be that hard to make one? Some dowels, flat bits of wood and some drilly bits and glue...

Would be a bit of a challenge for most seeds if you plant that deep! Like the idea though......

    Loving my allotment!

What would be really clever is if you could make one with removable pegs depending on the particular veg you are planting.

I thought that as well but looking at their 'guide info ' it states sowing seeds at either half inch or a quarter so i wonder if you have to buy two Stampers.

Not that I'm thinking of getting one

I couldn't make much sense of it I wondered whether it makes the same number of holes whatever, and you choose which ones to put a seed in........

Seems a bit pointless, but just part fill the holes with compost/loam, plant the seed, and fill with more soil.

As had already been said on here, I think it's a good idea but not something I would need myself.

I can see the attraction for children and those with mobility issues however.

I saw something someone had made out of 1'sq pieces of wood; they drilled holes in to mark where to plant; I think there were 4hole, 6hole and 9hole ones but not too sure now, there may have been a 12hole one as well. They just laid the relevant numbered-hole square on the soil, sowed the seed, or planted out the seedling through the holes, marked where the edges where by roughly scratching a stick in the soil, moved the board to the next piece of ground, and sowed again. I think there was a handle on the board for ease of movement. Looked like a good idea, that I would like to do at some point.
