I use an axe, rubber mallet and a normal hammer on a workbench. Put the axe into a join where the nails are, knock it in with the rubber mallet, tap it on the side until it comes looseand then tap the loosened part with the rubber mallet. Then its just a case of tapping the nails back through and pulling them out.

i just use a bolster & a 2.5lb club hammer, just sit the bolster between the pieces of wood and give it a good hit and it just cuts through the nails - its a quick easy way of taking them apart but it can leave sharp edges..... so not child friendly

Saber saw cuts through the nails, those double prong crowbar things are fine if the pallet is made of good wood which is worth recycling. For the dubious quality flimsy pallets I use a chainsaw to cut them down as fire wood to heat my big greenhouse and collect the nails with a magnet.
