Storing Chop Saw

I've been keeping my shop saw in the house, in a cupboard under the stairs but we've recently got a new shed and I'm wondering if I can get away with storing it in there instead or whether it will be a bit dodgy for electric items?

I was thinking dodgy in that it might get damp and then not work! =D

You could put it in a plastic box or bag if you're worried.

Store it against the back wall,there is no weathering bar above the doors so driven rain will quite possibly run down the back of the doors after dripping of the fascia.

I can never understand why they slope these sheds to the front. It would make so much more sense to slope to the back so that the user doesn't get water dripping on them if they open the door when it rains.

Follow BB's advice and it should be fine but the comments about being nicked are relevant. Thatisn't just a chop saw, It's a slide chop saw. Super piece of kit.

I would be more worried about it being stolen than getting damp and not working, i found out the hard way from my own experience

Spray with WD 40 or similar and bag it. That way drips from your hose pipe won't enter the motor and bugger things up.

i store my chop saw in my shed with no issues
a way of storing it off the floor though which i find easier is
if yo see the feet on the CS they normally have holes through the ends, measure the hole size and the distance between the top 2 and screw 2 screws into the back wall then lift the saw and line the new screws in through the holes on the CS
it clears the decks nicely and if you do get any moisture on it as its "hanging" chances are the fluid will run off

I like the sound of this but it's been screwed to some wood so that I can either use it on a flat surface or clamp it in a work bench! Maybe I'll make some holes in the wooden base though so I can hang it up!
