Raised Beds

Part way through making some raised beds for my veg using some scaffolding boards and I was about to line them with some polythene or old compost bags when my neighbor suggested that this might not be a good idea as it could trap water inbetween the polythene and wood and in turn rot the wood. He thinks it would be betto have nothing there at all.

Any suggestions which way would be best.

Really don't think you need to line them.

If you did line them, you'd provide the ideal environment for slugs to live in too. It's a no from me too
