Can't seem to find any in my neck of the woods, either. I think the people who manage to source them must have inside contacts.

Engineering places use the pallet collars - although they might pay a deposit on them so not be giving them away.
Find a pallet yard in the phone book and give them a call.

It'll have to come out of the greenhouse soon though, as I need the space. Desperately need to pot up the rest of those tomatoes!
Here's a shot of the underside of one end, which should reveal just about everything you need to know regarding its construction:
The legs are just two pallet slats at 90° to each other. I must confess, my mate did most of it. I fetched the tea. I did learn quite a lot from him though, which enabled me to make the trough planter thing.Attached FilesLast edited by mrbadexample; 14-06-2013, 02:54 PM.Our England is a garden, and such gardens are not made

Oh, as for locating pallets, I wouldn't try distribution centres. They will usually have to account for and return pallets to suppliers, so all you get are the scraps as darcyvuqua has found out. Small industrial estates work best for me - I see them lying about outside units and in skips on a daily basis. I don't think I'll ever run out.Our England is a garden, and such gardens are not made

Admittedly, the image data is from 2009, so it's possible that someone's moved them by now. But you get the idea.Attached FilesOur England is a garden, and such gardens are not made
