The cable on my mower has frayed and hanging on by a strand. Does any body have a quick fix? I have basic tools - no soldering iron. Thanks, Ryan

Quick fix for frayed lawn mower cable?

You get the same type of cable in exercise equipment and bicycles; see if you know of an old one lying about...failing that, if you really are desperate, you could try splicing/twisting in another bit of cable to replace the frayed bit. (ie So that you have fresh, smooth cable where it was most frayed, with a thicker, unsightly splice either side of the new cable. A couple of pairs of pliers and a lot of patience would be needed, I'd think.)There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.

by Marb67I have just given it a real pruning before it comes into leaf in the hope of getting some regeneration and the tree not having to work as hard getting water and nutrients higher up. If this doesn't work I'll replace it next year with something else.
