The cable on my mower has frayed and hanging on by a strand. Does any body have a quick fix? I have basic tools - no soldering iron. Thanks, Ryan

Quick fix for frayed lawn mower cable?

You get the same type of cable in exercise equipment and bicycles; see if you know of an old one lying about...failing that, if you really are desperate, you could try splicing/twisting in another bit of cable to replace the frayed bit. (ie So that you have fresh, smooth cable where it was most frayed, with a thicker, unsightly splice either side of the new cable. A couple of pairs of pliers and a lot of patience would be needed, I'd think.)There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.
