Lovely day here in Aberdeenshire, sunny, 24°c, bit windy but lovely none-the-less. Not much to do outside in the veggie plot other than try a keep the polytunnel cool, so decided to scarify the lawns. Not a job I've been looking forward to at all, but needs to be done and I managed an early start.
I have a Mantis, bought because a medical condition prevents me from doing much digging. Anyway, saved up and purchased a scarifying attachment from e-bay, not a bad bit of kit actually, works quite well. So...scarified a big bit of lawn, tea break, then rake it up. Not in this wind, no chance, every time I tried to get a nice pile of debris the wind blew it everywhere. After much cursing and swearing, the brainwave...

She could have told me an hour ago, would have saved me a lot of tears and sweat. She said 'I thought the exercise would do you good'. Bless her. Anyway, her brainwave works a treat, don't know why I didn't think of it myself.
