Hi everyone, I started a flower garden this year and am looking for ideas on what to do next with it. My goal is to add some height to the background and also attract hummingbirds and butterflies... without attracting any more bees than I already have. Any suggestions? Or has anyone done a similar project before?

Welcome to the Vine. No ideas about hummingbirds as there are none in UK gardens. Butterflies however prefer single flowers as opposed to doubles. One tall butterfly plant in my garden in verbena bonariensis, but whether it would grow in your part of the world.
Why no more bees?

Most pollenating insects and insects that collect nectar need basic, single flowers.....no double or fancy flowers.
So cosmos, single dahlias, single marigolds, sunflowers, buddleja, asters and verbena bonairiensis are all loved by butterfliesPlease visit my facebook page for the garden i look after
