Acrylic sheeting for coldframe.

I want to build a cold frame as I have some timber left over and need a see-through acrylic sheet or similar to use as the window. The CF is going to be about 2'7 x 1'8.

Any ideas on where to get reasonable priced plastics?

I used double skinned polycarbonate sheeting for mine which is 1 meter x 4 meters and it wasn't too expensive. Try a DIY store.

Like Roitolet, I used polycarbonate sheet, don't buy the very thin stuff or the frost causes it to crack. Mine has a slight blue tint as its UV stabilised, if that makes much of a difference I don't know.

Just on a recent visit to my local the was a chap scrapping nearly 50 sheets of poly 1200 by 600 sheets just before he threw them I quickly asked if I could take them he said of course .why he was chucking them was beyond me there perfect for the roof of my green house. Like they one mans muck is another mans treasure

I recently bought some sheeting and it was delivered cut to size for the greenhouse I built.

For now I ended up using some plastic from the blow away GH... I might actually have some corrugated plastic behind the shed so I might look at that for now. Thanks!
