Garden design advice

I completely redid my garden, the original being a compacted non draining lawn of moss and weeds, with a few overgrown shrubs. with luck here are two images of the garden:



The path runs from the house to the veg patch at the bottom. The trees on the left are plums. The ones at the end are Medlars. There is a quince on the right out of sight.



I was wondering about a couple of dwarf fruit trees in the middle of the lawn, in a line parallel to the path if that is clear. I'm not sure I can put one slap bang in the middle as a main sewer crosses the garden at right angles to the path, and I don't want a root through it. Are the really tiny dwarf fruit trees worth having i.e. 2m tall max?

The fence on the far side, on the left of the first image, has some Cotoneaster planted, which will grow to add some green on that side.

Suggestions are welcome. I asked here some time ago, was told to put some trees round the edges, dismissed the advice, then pretty much followed it. So even ideas I do not like are welcome, it all adds to thinking about it.

I wouldn't put any more trees in the lawn, you may want to use that space for something else (like more veggie beds). Also makes it fiddly for mowing. Perhaps plant them between the far end of the path and the bed that parallels it, to make a U shape.

The garden is sort of south facing, and there are trees in a J shape, two along the east side, two along the south, and one along the west. Any more along the south would interfere with my veg, which are in a sunny sheltered spot. The west side has a concrete path, a four metre strip, and then a huge hedge. The soil pipe goes sort of under the path.
