Seaweed, what could I use it for?

I take the dog for walks on the beach from autum through winter and thought I might as well collect some seaweed for the garden to bulk it out seen as Im lacking in soil. Ill also be giving some to my friend for her garden to.
Was wondering do any of you's use it and in what ways, what can you grow on it or if I mix it in with my clay soil what will happen?

It will improve your soil more than you can imagine. It will also put valuable trace elements into your soil. Cheers, Tony.
