Fix a rake - Help needed

So out of interest did the epoxy do the job? That would have been my fix too short of cutting off the rotten end of the handle, boring out a new hole and shaping to refit the conical metal keeper (i.e. re making it as original) but that would be a less than simple fix suitable only for a tool with sentimental attachment.

What's the verdict?
