One of the main reasons I'd go deeper 4' to soffit-ish is to orotect the pipe from accidental damage. I assume you won't be trafficking over it with anything too heavy though so that will help.

O sparrow It be a bit far for me, but if I was passing your way some time I would love to have a look at your lovely plots.I am positive you will be just fine just make sure you drain it to the lowest point on your plot.Comment
