  • Air Ventilation

Can anybody recommend vents for a wooden shed. My shed is beginning to drip with condensation. The windows don't open, I have the door open as much as I can and recently fitted double sided foil bubble wrap insulation and cladding boards. Was thinking of placing a vent above front door and opposite wall.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Mike.

A common problem in roofs where they use insulation along the rafters, As you suggest a vent either side would be good but you could look at a solar panel and a fan to assist in air flow.

If you can Mike, put one vent high up and one low down to get a through draught. I cut holes with a hole saw and stapled mesh over them to stop wasps etc.

I did a similar thing on my brick shed with concrete roof, drilled 20mm dial holes then put mesh and a terracotta coloured plastic air brick vent over at the top and bottom of the door and a 225 x 75mm air brick in the wall at just below the flat slab and it stopped the condensation I was getting on the flat concrete slab.

        See Wickes Terracotta Vent 225 x 150mm | Wickes.co.uk currently £3.51 each

Thanks for advice, anybody used adjustable vents? I insulated the shed because my better half does not like the cold, so would like to keep her warm when she does visit the allotment. Could anybody recommend an adjustable vent? Between the outer shed wall and the internal cladding there must be about 50mm gap.

            Ta in advance.
