Ummmm, if you're putting it in a corner which doesn't have enough room for your mate to get into, then how are you going to maintain the GH once its up? Simple things like washing the glass - and is there enough light all round the GH if you bung it in a corner?

I'll leave you in the safe hands of these two

I'm off to bed...probably end up dreaming of laying concrete now...or mud wrestling!

That's a fair point, and I had thought about that. My last greenhouse I gave just enough room to squeeze in behind if I had to. The corner is where it has to go, really, but it should still get good light. I'll have another think tomorrow but I've got limited pond space which I need to consider. :/

              Not my problem.

But good point and I don't know. Ok, I'll invent something tomorrow. The clock is ticking but Costco are pretty good so I don't think they'll rush me. But you've seen the photos, where would you put it?

I think the best I can do is have it a slab's width away from the fence and I can get round it. That would work.

But it means I'll have to lay slabs.

Not necessarily............just leave a 2 foot gap round the fence sides & lay a rectangle of timbers to pour the concrete in, when set lift the timbers out. Plus your mate will be able to help level it without falling in.

If ever you need to maintain the fence, you'll be glad that you didn't put the GH tight against it

That really made me laugh - I was reminded of the 'slightly' portly fencer cursing whilst squeezing past the last one. Clearance was about a foot and I'd secured the greenhouse properly so it wasn't going anywhere.

Can I lay concrete on turf?

You're making your life really hard.

The base doesn't have to be glass flat, flat enough will do. A sawing action with a lump of 2x4 over the frame to level it will be good enough and as for floating it later

Personally I wouldn't bother trying to lay a full base of wet mix (have you done the calculations on the concrete requirements). If you really, really want it on a hardstanding why not dig some strip footings and pour those then 1 course of bricks and then infill with a dry screed mix. If you want it glass flat after that pour over some self levelling compound..... but where's the water going to run if it's flat?

...and no don't pour concrete straight onto turf.
