Hey folks,
Have built a wooden greenhouse frame and bought 1000 gauge greenhouse plastic to cover it with. I had originally intended to secure the plastic to the frame by just screwing strips of wood to the frame over the plastic. Looks like this will work, I've seen other people do this but it doesn't look so hot I guess.
Been Googling it up, and there's reference to wiggle wire in a c-frame as a better means of securing plastic. Seems to be mostly a US thing as I haven't been able to find that in the UK, but am also thinking that might work out pretty expensive?
Alternatively, some folk seem to be suggesting using batten tape like this, which would be cheap. I'm not really sure this would stop the plastic from tearing. Or more accurately, not sure how you'd use this to secure plastic to a wooden frame. All I've found is people suggesting roofing nails or large staples, but I want this to be easily removable so I can replace the plastic when it inevitably degrades. Anyone have any experience with this or maybe any other ideas? As much looking something cleaner than bits of wood screwed randomly around the outside.
Sorry if this has been asked previously, you get a helluva lot of search results looking for anything greenhouse related
Thanks!
Baps.
