  • Sowing Questions!

I'm hoping to grow a few winter veg, so when would be the best time to sow the following seeds:

turnip (I already have a few growing, a tub of seedlings to be precise, I planted the seeds during the summer, but wondering if that was actually the right time lol)
squash (hoping to have another go and get it right this time!)
    cabbage
pumpkins (the eating sort I suppose)

    Thanks in advance!

You won't have any success with squash and pumpkins till next spring Salina. You can probably still sow spring cabbage now and I usually grow my turnips in Spring/summer.

Salina, squash are not at all hardy. Wait until next spring and plant in time to put them out in a sunny sheltered spot after all danger of frost is passed. Then pray for a long, hot summer.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.
