  • A Noobie Hippy

    Greetings all!!

I have finally got around to joining Grapevine - Jo (Lavenderblue) introduced me so I thought I should just post a quickie before going to bed and say hello.

Jo has told you all about the lottie and the dense jungle that covers it. Lucky for me I am an eternal optimist and the deft use of a sickle has already yielded results

Right, tis late and Quote Unquote has just come on the radio which is a natural sophoritic so I had better log off now before I nod off....

    Good night.

Welcome Storm, keep us posted with your progress, and mind the pointy end of that sickle.

thanks you for the welcomes shortie and pigletwillie and Lavenderblue

i am more than careful with the point end of the sickle! most injuries sustained thus far have been from the thorny stuff i am hacking out - 'tis vicious!

noticed you make yer own cyyyyder pigletwillie. i have access to loads of apples and may well be pickin' yer brains in autumn for some hints and tips. my efforts in the past have been somewhat polarised in terms of success - either yielding the smoothest, mellow, golden falling-over juice you've ever tasted..... or a very effective paint stripper and i am never sure why...

BTW the sunrise over Leicester was fantastic this morning with the big moon up there too... one of the few perks to working on the 11th floor of an office...

          cheers

I guess this is the one time that a storm is welcomed on the vine? Anyway, welcome aboard Storm.

The sunrise was pretty sexy this morning here too. Especially when you see it through skeletal trees bereft of leavery.

Hi and welcome. No storm here today but frost under foot and the usual grey snd yellow sky. Looks like a fading bruise!
Take it easy with that plot clearing - don't crock the old back.

I used to work on the 9th floor of a building in Central London and when the sun went down it was down my side of the building. The sunsets could be fab, made even better by the London Skyline!

... Then they moved us to the 2nd floor of a different building and we face the side of another tall building with only a few yards between us

yeah that's amazing. i was gonna bike into work today but the BBC said it would be chucking it down today so i wimped out. i love to ride in during winter 'cos you get to see the sunrise and it also re-connects you with nature too. you notice the seasons more and in spring it's nice to see flowers out in bloom in the afternoon that were still a bud in the morning.

i would prefer frost to wet to be honest! after the weekend's labour i have decided to adopt a different tactic in clearing the grass that will require only the effort it takes to strike a match
