Hi, just wanted to say hello from a newbie. I have approx one third of acre back garden (read very jungly jungle), and am hoping to grown a load of veg/fruit, so no doubt I will be reading and asking lots. I also have done a rainwater system that supplies my toilet, washing machine, dishwasher, shower and greenhouse.
    cheers.

Hi, many thanks for the warm welcome, the rainwater system is basically 3 x 400 gallon tanks linked, and fed from my roof. Pumped to a 25 gallon header tank in my roof, using float switches, (all 12volt). From there it gravity feeds my toilet and is pumped to my washing machine, dishwasher and shower, (using a 12 volt on demand pump), all run from 2 x 110 amp leisure batteries, charged by solar panels.
If you want to know more, just ask
                Hope this helps

                      Welcome aboard cortina.

Rainwater harvesting is very cool, good on you for doing it. With hindsight I wish we'd had something installed when we had our flooding problem, but alas the insurance would only cover bare minimum (diversion). We couldn't afford to do it as it turned out, but who knows, one day...

Certainly sounds like you know what you're talking about though.

Good luck with your veg/fruit growing aspirations.
