Beetles

Have just taken a wander out into the front garden and there are hundred of beetles out there! The body is a beautiful bronze brown and head a dark green. Hope you can make it out on the attached pic. Anyone any idea what these are? Good or bad?

I don't think so Manda - I wondered if it was a ground beetle, but the colour is definetly brown rather than black and that head is definetly green!

leaf beetles

do an image search on google at leaf beetles im sure it will be one of those there are hundreds and some have green heads

Actually gcroft that's not the one! Thought it was at first! By chance, had a friendly botanist/scientist around from the BTO and she told me it is a harmless rose beetle! So now I know and can relax instead of expecting the hundreds of beetles to overtake my garden!
