cucumbers

hi everyone, i've got 3 cucumbers i've been growing indoors(in my lounge!) they've got 3 or 4 true leaves but everytime i put them in unheated greenhouse the start to wilt.
I just wondered if i put soluble potash on them will that give them a boost?

Cukes don't like the cold!

Toms and cukes; if it is too cold for you to be out there without a cardi; it's probably too cold for them as well.

Mine [cukes] aren't going to be sown for ages yet; my toms are all indoors around the house.

You might have quite a full lounge/sitting room by the time they are ready to go out.

Don't sow mine till at least half-past April! Better in early May.

i tried to grow them last year but they all died except one plant which i got 5 off in september!.i am going to grow loads this year as i am expecting to give a lot there last rites

Jojo, don't plant your cucumbers too early then you won't have to worry about last rites. They're cold sensitive and like to be cosy so hang on a while.

Yes and yes but as said above they are tender. I grow mine every year in 10" pots in the greenhouse. Plant them in mid April in small pots indoors and plant out in the greenhouse when all risk of frost has passed. Give them some support and 1 plant gives the two of us more than we need - gave loads away last year. There's lots of different types though, some are indoor, some outdoor (usually ridge types). For ease, spend the extra for an all female greenhouse type if you want supermarket style fruits.
