hello, should I pinch out the 1st seed leaf of my Jalapino, to give the plant more chance of developing new leaf?
    cheers

No leave them. They are a good indication of the health of the plant. I was told that peppers and toms should still have their seed leaves when big enough to plant out - it shows they haven't had a check in growth.

I am thinking of putting my chilies/peppers into the heated greenhouse , they have reached their 4th leaf stage, would this be advisable, or has anyone else done this already
        cheers

          Hi

If I had a heated greenhouse, my chillis and peppers would be in there year round.

but I haven't mores the pity.

Mine aren't as big as yours and are in an unheated greenhouse. The greenhouse itself isn't heated but I have a small paraffin heater (about one candle power!) under the seedlings.
The max min thermometer informs me it has been down close to freezing but not quite and my pepper and tomato seedlings seeem to be growing ok!
If the forecast is a for a period of frost I'll just have to take a chance and cover them with fleece overnight!

You need to know the minimum temperature in the greenhouse.

Chillis are some of the most tender plants we grow in the UK and will not take kindly to temperatures below 10 degrees. I think it's probably a little early unless you are in a particularly sheltered spot.

Mine are about... ooh, two thirds the size of yours, and will be staying on the windowsill for some time. I'll then put them out in the greenhouse during the day but only when things warm up. By the end of April they should be out full time, I hope. I have a guaranteed minimum temp of 4 degrees.

                        Thanks CUTEY
It was the foliage that cast the shadow that cause the pictures to turn out so bad, will try harder.
