I have got some toms growing but dont know to which bits to pinch out and when . They are the GYO sub artic plentys about 1inch tall and some big boys which are around 4inches tall. Can you advise me please????
Sub Arctic are indeed bush type, no pinching required. As far as I know Big Boy sounds like a beafsteak type which are usually cordon. They will need support and the shoots which grow in the leaf joints pinching out.
You can still pinch them out and root them but you'll reduce your crop as unlike cordons they only grow to a certain height then stop. I pruned some of my bush ones last year as they took over and were triffid like. Too er bushy. Still got plenty of toms though.
