I planted a container of salad mix and was really pleased when it all leapt into life; but think I might have killed it with kindness as it has all gone leggy. I've put it outside in the greenhouse [unheated] but just wondered if I really have commited saladicide or whether it will rejuvinate in the cooler habitat

At that size, I wouldn't worry. The greenhouse will shorten and toughen them up.Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

I did the same with mine - they went a bit leggy even though in the minigreenhouse (had germinated indoors). So I just transplanted from modules into a large pot today, and put it out on the patio. I might replant the modules (slightly less densely!) tomorrow for succession (these were sown 2 weeks ago).

i experimented and planted saladmix and little gem both in garden and unheated sunny summerhouse (dont have green house just a bench) everything in garden germinated still waiting for summerhouse batch - all about a week ago. I thought it would be other way round, esp with cold and wind and rain we;ve been having round here lately. My Square Foot Gardening Experiment Blog :
