  • plant or weed?

I have made many mistakes at the lottie but the main one was not labelling any of the seeds as I thought I would remember!! went today and wanted to do a bit of weeding but not sure if this was weed or plant. I suspect a weed as it appeas to be in quite a ew places and although i tried to sow seeds in lines these aren't. Mind you the things I suspect are the plants aren't in lines either which is a bit strange! have posted photo below of said weed (or plant) if anyone can tell for sure otherwise I will leave it till they get a bit bigger

A weed is only a plant in the wrong place Mrs Baggins!

Did you sow marigold seeds? It looks like one of them to me (not good on flowers though)

        Looks exactly like my Marigolds!

If you give it a little while, it will probably flower soon, then you will know

        Kind regards

It's always good to sow in lines, so you can see what's what. Weeds will be outside of your line (you can sow a few radish in the line to show you clearly where the line is ... radish comes up really quickly)

It also looks a bit like my larkspur seedlings! You needn't have sown it yourself Mrs Baggins. I've got poppies coming up on my allotment. The allotment neighbour grew them about 6 years ago. Persistent little blighters. I shall leave a few that are not interfering with my veg, though. You could always leave one or two, or even pot them up and see what you get free.

Oh dear, I'm beginning to wonder what I've let myself in for?

I've bought and planted half a packet of Shirley's opium poppies for to harvest the seeds to eat.

Still, It will bring a bit of colour to the allotment if they self seed and I can always use them as green manure!
