  • Is it to late to plant?

I've just been given some seed - basil, spring onion. Is it too late to do anything with them.

Can I save seed I don't use this year till next?

    Hi DTC,

you may get away with the spring onions - it's a bit late but what the heck.

As to saving the seed, next time your cooking a meal have Ice cream for pud & buy a small tub, eat it all, wash the tub out & use this to store the seeds in & keep them in the fridge door.

You can use Flora tubs but ice creams nicer

Hi does the cooking, you can sow basil almost any time if you grow it indoors in a pot, keep it in the kitchen & then you will have it easily to hand.

the other thing with basil, if you sow lots of it, when the seedlings get to about 1.5/2 in tall, you can cut them and add them to salad like cress. yum
