I am no expert but I should think you will be OK if you have another go. I have just transplanted mine into bigger pots and they are doing fine - still not in the garden yet though.

        Pumpkins

Don't worry. I'm sure you've got time to get some more seeds in, they'll soon catch up.

I sowed some pumpkin seeds on the 16th of April and out of a whole packet only two came up. I sowed another lot on the 10th of May and every one is up and going great guns.

I don't know what the problem was with the first lot but suspect it was still to cold when they went in.

Good luck, hope you grow some whoppers.
It is the doom of man, that they forget.

I planted 10 seeds of Crown Prince and all 10 germinated but i have found a little bit of bottom heat do's the trick .
I do not grow them myself but grow them for some body else to grow on there plot but a little tip is when the third leaf comes up that is the way the plant will grow in the direction that the third leaf points .jacob

I'm sure its the second true leaf. You get two leaves created by the seed and all subsequent are produced by the new plant. Its the second true leaf that dictates the direction of the main vine. I don't think its an exact science though!

Not too late by the way. Just don't overwater until sprouted. The seeds can easily rot.

had no idea until now you could predict their growing direction,in past have just popped them in & hoped they wouldnt go wandering over neighbours plot,.another query on same sort of subject.when & if i ever get them 2 germin8,their planned destination is fairly poor quality clay soil, any last minute ideas how 2 improve b4 planting out?1 yr we'll be more organised & get ground prepared over winter?someone said lime the area 1st,some1 else said it 2 l8,any ideas?considering getting some mushroom compost but hubby thinks we'll end up with a plot covered in 'shrooms 4 years 2 come?hopefully this time next year we'll have a good supply of well rotted chook poo1
