  • Acidic Soil

    Hi all,

Just tested my soil today for the first time to find that it is actually quite acidic (about a pH of 4.5), after finding that some things were not growing very well. Yes I know I should have checked it before hand I was wondering if there is any way of increasing the pH without digging anything into the ground, and how long I should expect it to take?

    Cheers,

    Steven

A four year crop rotation would mean you lime a quarter of your plot each year.
Use lime or crushed dolomite on your brassica bed and you could use woodash or spent mushroom compost on the other beds.

If you don't want to dig the lime in just put a sprinkling in your planting hole for brassicas and water in well!
