Alot of people will still be sowing alot of those due to the frost this week. The only ones I can see a problem with would be toms and sweetcorn, it depends on whether you want to risk it or not. But, I sowed little toms last year at the end of May and still got a crop.

I would try and sow what you want to grow, and if you get a slightly later crop then everyone else, then you still get a crop.

Alternatively, if you are unsure about some seeds - you could always buy in plug plants from your nearest garden centre, or even order them online or through a catalogue.

          Hope this helps!

If you are sowing indoors or in a greenhouse, I would do any of these now. If you want to sow directly outside, make sure your last frost has come and gone.

The only one which is a little late is the tomato, but it's a small-fruited type, which tend to mature more quickly, so I would give it a go. I sowed my last batch only a couple of weeks ago - small fruited bushy plants that I am going to try and over-winter.

I think you should be ok but watch for weather forcasts of any frost and cover up with any, newspaper if you have nothing else suitable. My marketmore are still behind glass at night but open to the elements during the day. Only another week or two at the most before we should be free of frosts or we are not experiencing global warming!

I think that only the tomato will be too late but maybe still worth trying a few seeds. I have just sown some more Sweetcorn (indoors in Root Trainers) as I had a poor yield on the first lot. They'll stay inside until fairly well developed then will be hardened off in the cold frame for a week or so.

there's a clue in there somewhere

actually lettuce prefers cool conditions, so put it somewhere with some shade (mine are in between my broad beans, they're loving it)
