I've got some strawberries that were already on the plot, I was wondering how do I know when i've got a runner on them and how do I go about planting them.
A runner is a long shoot which grows out & away from the plant. A little way along it, a couple of leaves will start to grow and the stem will start looking like a little 'elbow' underneath them, then it will keep growing. If you put something over the 'elbow' bit to hold it onto the soil, roots will grow out of it and that will become your 'runner' - new plant!
