I was just thinking yesterday that I might have flowers on my tomatoes by Christmas. Not sure what happened as I also had stuff planted early enough. My beans are doing well now though and so are my peas but they took their own sweet time getting started.

This changeable weather is not helping matters, down here one minute everything is flooded out the next it has a torturous hot sun burning down. Now it's turning cooler again with yet more rain to come...........the seasons are well and truly up the creek and I don' think the veggies know whether they are coming or going!

Yesterday I noticed flowers starting to appear on my tomatoes and 2 of my peppers - my dad's have had flowers on for a couple of weeks! Yesterday was lovely, today grey and grim! This is my first year so I'm crossing fingers and hoping for the best

I feel just the same - all my seeds came up luverly-like, got to the two leaf stage - and stopped! Everything is so tiny that I'm not sure it'll catch up - with the exception of some icebergs which I wish would stop growing - never happy eh!

The weather's been terrible. My toms and chillies have been sulking, but now we've had a few days of summer they're romping away. Don't worry, things usually catch up.

Absolutely typical of seedlings hit by a cold spring. Sow some more - there is every chance that the earlier ones will come to nothing, judging by my experience of a couple years back.

My pak-choi which i was so chuffed aout germinating quickly has done nothing since... just sitting there as a row of pairs of leaves with big gaps between each individual in the row. most anti-social!
That said i do have some flowers starting to open up on my Tom's (totem). While some indoor vareties that i'm growing outdoor as an experiment are also nearly there! (sungold & Roma)
Shame about my courgettes though... bloody flys!

This is my first year growing veg, and I've just discovered The Grapevine - thank god I have. Was starting to think I'd gone totally wrong and made loads of mistakes, but looking at other postings, everyone's having the same problems as me, so I'll just keep smiling and enjoy experimenting!
