    Whoa???

When you say planted them, do you mean you planted them out or you sowed them? Leeks shouldn't flower this early if sown in March.

What you'll get is a hard centre stub, and possibly quite hard leeks themselves. I use these for soups and make sure they are well blitzed down. Take the flowers off as soon as they appear to limit the damage; or get them all up now and make a huge batch of something!

Mine are still pencil sized - mind you they are in marge tubs! They'll go out in a week or two.

            Hi
Leeks ARE easy, but they go over really quickly.

I had leek and potato soup tonight for tea with leeks where they had all flowered! Must remember next year once one goes to pull the lot and cook them. Just pull them and soup them...remember to cook nice and slowly to make them go as soft as possible. Then blitz them.
