  • A few daft questions

Some silly questions from a first year gardener!

How long will it take for my peppers to go red?

Why are my iceberg lettuce and broccoilli seedlings all long and thin and not at all round?

And why am I suddenly addicted to gardening?!!

    Welcome! Not silly at all!

Peppers - some of mine are just starting to go red - depends on the variety really. If they're in a greenhouse etc then they will change colour earlier than if they are outside.

Seedlings tend to be a bit leggy. One reason may be because they haven't had enough light. I worry about mine too!!! Once you plant them up into little pots of their own they will start to bush up, and will do it quicker than you think.

Gardening addiction - sorry - can't help with this one - I have it too!

Depends on how sunny and warm it is really.

The only answer is to eat the offending vegetables, I find that helps a lot.

Hi Tori, peppers can be quite late - I seem to remember it was end of August last year before I picked red ones. Don't worry about the seedlings - they'll be fine.

As for the addiction, there's no cure I'm afraid :-)
