I'm stuffing my face at the moment whilst waiting for dinner, I haven't had any for ages and they are SO addictive... I'm filling up the bowl for the empty shells very quickly and am thinking "would these be good as mulch/compost, or are they sprayed with something nasty and therefore not to be used?" They make good looking false nails... mmm maybe I could glue them on and paint them (not that they'd last five mins on MY hands). Anyway, if anyone has a clue....

We compost ours.
Make sure you wash them first to remove any salt ( if they are salted)
They take ages to rot down, but that's no problem if they go into the soil a bit too soon.
Painting them for nails???...boy...is there nothing worth watching on the TV???
( Costco do HUGE bags of them for a really good price.....I reckon they must be faulty though as they don't last very long)Last edited by Nicos; 16-08-2008, 08:31 PM."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

These are 'Ginni's FAMOUS Roasted and Salted JUMBO pistachio nuts'. Thanks for the info about washing the salt off first.. we're having a party next Saturday and I was going to buy loads and tell people to chuck the shells straight onto my flower bed.
No, there's nothing on the telly except 'Coast' which we recorded earlier and soon I'm off to bed with me RHS Garden Finder directory... (nothing like a directory to get one snoring pronto).
