We're just George Foremanning our courgettes ... slice em, spread with garlic butter, grill em. Serve on the side of anything (except possibly porridge)
Like the sound of that TS! I think even I could manage that! Lol!

marrow and ginger jam, yum, yum yum, some of it can be mushed down into a puree, before putting into jars, best done with a turbo foot whist still hot,and used for lots of things like, ice cream, yogurt, cake filling,on your breakfast cerial,in a sweet and sour stirfry, and not forgetting a new food taste for when your weaning the little one.

Having not been to the plot for about two weeks I could hardly be surprised when I discovered two mammoth courgettes.
Wayne be warned - never turn your back on courgettes!! If the weather is right (wet and warm) they turn into marrows overnight. I can't leave mine more than 3 days, never mind two weeks!!!!!!!!!
Grab a pair of tights, I'll see if I can find my late fathers recipe for marrow whisky, I have fond memories of that particular hangover.
Haven't made that for years! As I remember you fill the cavity of the marrow, after scooping out seeds, with dark brown sugar and orange zest and leave it to drip before fermenting with yeast etc.
I was just thinking today how, when I set my courgette plants back in May my mouth watered, thinking of lovely, fresh courgettes and all the things you can do with them. Now into September I am almost wishing for a sharp frost to get rid of them!!
I'm storing my biggies to give to the laydees later in the year....

As lottie dolly before mentioned, marrow and ginger jam. Sounds revolting, is actually scrummy, all lemony and gingery. Just in case, here's the recipe ... Marrow & ginger jam recipe - Recipes - BBC Good Food

PS could anyone give me a link for a nice spicy marrow chutney? Thanks

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day
