What's surprised you most?

Everything surprises me! The rate at which the weeds grow, the fact that seeds grow into things I can eat and look like the picture on the packet. How much I love being on my plot working, chatting, seeing what other people are growing. How well I sleep after a day there and how much I can ache the next day. Taking on an allotment was definitely one of the better decisions I have made.

Every year i take loads of cuttings of my fuchsia's, Dahlia's, chrysanthemum's and some of my cacti & succulents and I'm still amazed when they take and start to grow ... I just run out of room thats all!
