peppers from seed

Hi all, i was using a red pepper yesterday and thought 'if i save and dry the seeds from this can i grow my own'? so ive put the pepper centre with seeds in a bowl to dry out.
Can anyone tell me will that work and do I just put them in pot etc, etc
also is it one seed per pot and what is the after care, temp etc

Hi Supersam,
You will be too late to grow your peppers this year. Take the seed from the centre and wash them well. I usually put them in the sieve and run the water over them. When this is done put on some kitchen roll paper and put on a sunny window sill to dry out. When complete3ly dry store in an envelope until next year. Just make sure they stay dry.
Next year sow them in a seed tray and when they gave two true seed leaves plant each one into a 3 inch pot and you should have a good crop.

my 7yr old grew peppers from a seed kit he got from early learning center for a quid
he grew it on the window sill and it produced loads of lovely friut which he ate and wouldnt share cos they "were his" tight sod
