    hi
i cut my strawberry plants back a couple of weeks ago after they frinished fruiting, but now they are sprouting again - they are sending up leaves and runners - should i keep cutting them back until spring or let this set grow?
    thanks for all advice

No let it grow Taylor this will help get shot of any disease that was on them like Mildew as they will have a good ariflow around them. Also they'll slow down a bit as the days get cooler & this will help them to set the buds for fruiting next year as they need a dose of the cold.

Pot up the runners Taylorlej (leave them attached until they have rooted) & you'll have a whole new set of plants for next year.

I didn't get a single strawberry from the plants I planted this year. I lost a lot to vine weavil, but the ones that remained never fruited at all. They just threw out runners which I cut off thinking that it might make them fruit...but no. So i'm planting out any new runners into small pots so that I've got more plants for next year.

Any idea why mine didn't fruit this year?

I've got them all in pots at the moment, but thinking of planting them out into the veg plot next year. Is it best to do that now, or should I store them in the greenhouse until next year and plant them out in spring?

I remember your strawberry problems Eskymo - you had a nightmare from what I remember!

Taylorlej - I'd definitely take some of the runners - free strawberry plants!

My strawberries have just started fruiting again (I was very surprised...), and even one of the runners (which has not yet rooted!) is bearing fruit

              Peculiar strawberries
