  • Constucting a compost bin

    Hi all
I am going to constuct a compost bin out of Pallets.
Is it a good idea to put the bin direct on to the ground or put it on a pallet to allow the air flow to go under the bin.
    looking forward to some advice.
    Bobby

we put our pallet compost bin directly onto the ground after digging it up a bit first to encourage insects in...i've since heard of people digging a hole then placing the bin ontop to increase capacity...smart eh!

All the answers are here - somewhere. You just have to use the right search words and a bit of patience

I just typed into the keywords box ' Pallets compost bin' 13 pages came up so read all the thread titles and right clicked the ones that intrigued me. Then it's just a case of speed reading the posts and if I find any useful information I bookmark that page in a relevant folder and read it fully. If it's great info I print it out and put it in my lottie folder for future reference.

A little bit OCD (that really should be CDO) and I have quite a few pages bookmarked now.

I like the search options as I usually get MORE info than if I just posted a question. If I get really stuck I will post questions :-)

Jay I use google to search the vine :-

              site:www. growfruitandveg. co.uk

copy that into your browser without the spaces then add what you're searching for at the beginning.

Let me know how you get on.
