  • Onion sets sprouting in the bag!

Hi guys last year I bought some end of season onion sets and I've kept them in an airtight tin. None of them are mouldy however some of them have started to sprout.

I am not planning to plant them until start of March. Will these ones still be ok to use or will I chuck them on the compost heap.

I've been growing my own for just over a year but still appreciate anyones advice.

    Thanks, Victoria

    Hi

Can't you get them in now? They sounds as if they want to grow.

Oh, in that case, just leave them in the bag and get them in the ground when you move.

Definitely this - I often start my sets off in modules - means I have more time to dig the bed over!
