Xmas spuds?

I've having a go at potatoes in containers for cropping in winter. I read that you should add more soil when there is 6" of plant showing, then wait and repeat.

How long should you keep doing this? I've aready cut the bottom out of a second bucket and added it to the top of the first. Should I add a third bucket? Will they stop growing after a while, or will I end up with 6' of buckets?

Hi, You can keep covering them up. I would put another bucket on and then if they grow out of it I would just cover the tops with a little fleese

The potatoes in my dustbins are growing at different rates with a couple of shoots 6" high but the others only 1 or 2 inches. Should I just cover the whole lot as it's a bit difficult just to cover the 6" ones.
