      last time we took Dexter the dog for walkies at Arnside (south lakes) I ran around the beach collecting any seaweed I could find! OH thought I'd gone mad! put it in the compost as soon as I got home! dexterdog

        I recall as a youngster seeing seaweed spread over cotils to compost the new potatoes. Many thought that the flavour of jersey royals came from the seaweed!Have not seen it much in use lately ,maybe labour problems. But it was certainly considered to be a good source of compost.Its free!
