  • T & M order error

Not sure where to post this but I've just received a small order from Thompson and Morgan (using the £5 no strings voucher) and one of the packets of seeds is wrong. I've been sent Sea Holly and not Hare's Tail grass as I'd ordered.

As I'm useless on the phone I've sent them back with the order form and a covering letter. Do you think they will replace them or ignore as I hardly paid more than the postage for the order?

I was a bit embarrassed chasing it up but I really wanted the Bunny tail grass.

If it had been my order I'd have emailed them about the missing seeds (Hare's Tail) and also said they'd sent something I didn't ask for. My bet would be that they'd have said keep the sea holly and they'd have sent the hare's tail?

BTW I would certainly expect them to send you the correct seeds after receiving your letter (how you paid doesn't matter).

      Thanks Manda.

I would have preferred to email them but couldn't find an email address for them on the order form or site. I shall look in their catalogue for future reference.

          Thanks Flummery,

My husband has just found an email address on the back of one of my seed packets (I couldn't read the tiny writing) so I'm going to use it as I've not posted my letter yet.

          Thanks for the help!

T & M are a very reputable company and I'm sure if you e-mail them they will send you the seeds you want.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

Although you say you are useless on the phone, they are really helpful if you do phone them. Just write down your order reference number and notes of what you got compared to what you ordered. They really are patient and understanding.

                Ditto.
I'm not easily impressed, but T&M are fab at customer service (they sent me pot-grown acers when their cheaper bare-rooted ones were out of stock)

Thanks for all the advice. I'm waiting to hear from the email I sent them earlier.

I love their seeds but normally get them from the garden centre. Glad to hear they are usually good dealing with problems.

Butter fingers - is it some time since you emailed them?

Not what I've found, they've been one of the worse companies I've dealt with , one of the women I spoke to was downright rude when I pointed out that they had send the wrong variety of plants to me (and only after chasing them as they were over a month late) and just said that I was being unreasonable to expect more as they'd been cheap. It wasn't a lot of money but that was hardly the point - took me about 3 months to sort out that time and as that was the second time I'd had problems with them I now boycott them for anything other than the occaisional packet of seeds from the garden centre.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
