  • can I plant a grapevine in a toilet?

We are ripping one out this week. Wondered how I could recycle it....

    Any thoughts?

A fig might be a better idea as they fruit better if their roots are restricted.

Hmmm, then I'd have to buy a fig tree, the grapevine will be free.

Beans? Something else that climbs? Could be flowers too.

Wilkinsons have fig trees for about £4 at the moment. I bought one last year and it is just coming back into leaf now.

Some sort of flowers that flow out from under the lid and drape over the sides?

I have to put it in the front garden somewhere - I like to lower the tone

Why not put some trailing plants in it, going over the side . . . . then a scarecrow sitting on it?!
