    Hi Ian

Just having had my first summer of success on my fledgling veggie patch, I am in the throes of planting now - garlic and Japanese onions are my two biggies at the moment.

Last month I planted spinach, turnips, salad leaves, pak choi and radish which are all doing well, but I don't know if you'd be a little late for these now..sure some expert on here will tell you! I also planted cabbage plants from my local nursery - not so successful, but at least the caterpillars enjoyed them

I intend to keep planting oriental leaves as long as poss in the greenhouse as I believe these will keep going well into Winter if they're protected in some way. Also radish grows so quickly that if this weather keeps up, you may get away with it. I'm trying the Chinese radish 'Mangtanghong' which apparently is good for stir frying as well as salads.

    Good luck with the planting!

Hi GL and welcome to the Vine! If you could get some Carlingford potatoes planted they should be ready in time for Christmas methinks, also you can plant onions - Adam at seedsforsuccess is the man to ask - he's the chap I've got my tatties and onions from - he's a member of the vine, if you go to the members list you'll find him under seedsforsuccess - he's very friendly and helpful and I know he'll be able to give you some sound advice! Do keep in touch on the Vine and let everyone know how you get on! Best wishes dexterdog
