When your seeds first germinate, the first set of leaves to come are 'seed leaves'. They aren't the same as the leaves that the plant will grow later. So the second set of leaves are known as 'true' leaves because they are the ones which the plant has grown itself, as opposed to the 'seed leaves' which are stored in the seed.
thanks sarwiz, i have noticed on my tomato's that the first set of leaves were normal and the second set had the hairy stems, which i assume is the true leaves,

my lovely wife bought some off ebay for our rabbits to graze on for a healthy snack
The mix contains:
CHICORY
PLANTAIN
VETCH
ALFALFA
TIMOTHY GRASS
SOW THISTLE
RED CLOVER
WHITE CLOVER
MARSH MALLOW
DANDELION
PARSLEY
and we planted them with our little boy a couple of days ago.
The seedlings are popping up in our kitchen at the moment. Once they're nice and established we're going to pop the tray out in the little greenhouse and i'll take some pictures. Not sure how exciting that will be!
so not quite baby rabbits popping up, thankfully!!
