  • Will parsnips still be ok?

This - sorry, last year I successfully managed to grow some parsnips. However, I didn't manage to harvest them all the last time I was at the allotment (beginning of December).

Reckon they'll be ok, or will they have likely met their slime covered end?

I've written off the celeriac that was also there.

    Dig em up and see?

I think I still have some celeriac that might be worth scrubbing though none of them got very big (and they certainly didn't want for water here last summer)

I popped some out on Sunday and they were fine. Going to be roasted this week.

They should be fine - both of them - unless they got slugged. They don't usually eat mine though - maybe they don't like the taste either?

I would dig them up and have a look. I am still harvesting and using mine and they are very tasty.

I had one of mine yesterday..... my issue is the size of them ..... they're huge!!!! I think I posted this photo on here before .... if so, I apologise for the repetition.....

I've probably got 15 of these.... and there is only me and my lad who like them ..... but we can't possibly eat a whole one between us. So to save wasting them, could I use them for parsnip wine?

Certainly can but... aah, erm, you only use the water to make wine so that won't help. Have you tried roast parsnip soup?

Congratulations on the size of your parsnip btw

Chop and parboil and use late in for stews? Or for mash?
They look fabulous by the way I have definite parsnip envy - we love them and I only managed to grow 7
