how far apart do i plant seed potatoes?

Have a mixture of earlies, second earlies and maincrop seed potatoes, want to be able to earth them up, question is.
How far apart should the rows be? and how many to a row?, the rows will be 10 feet long and cover the width of the plot. THANKS GUYS

24 inches is the recommended gap between rows.

12 inches between earlies in a row and 16 inches for main crop.

I only grow earlies. 12" apart and about 18" between the rows. I always feel that planting distances are suggestions rather than rules!

That's a heck of a lot of compost! But if you get good results then it's probably worth it. I'm going to be putting in an early row soon

Last year I put about 3 or 4 in one of those clay pots and the results were good.
