Just got back in from my course - a bit late to make a start today, but we'll start clearing it bit by bit tomorrow. I know I shouldn't do too much at once, but I've got some asparagus crowns arriving at the end of Oct, so I'll need a bed for them to go into.
I've already become an allotment bore - as an ice-breaker on the course I was on, we had to say a bit about ourselves. I was talking about how excited I was, which I thought was a bit sad really, but it started several conversations with people who wanted to know how to get one, and what crops I'd be growing etc. So, getting an allotment is also a conversation starter as well as good exercise, fresh veg etc
